- The "BJT" is a test for measurement of the "business Japanese" skills.

In the business world, it is necessary to achieve their own aims through respecting and understanding the different culture and custom of others and mutually adjusting the problems on business.
The "BJT" objectively measures and evaluates practical "communication skills in Japanese" in various scenes of business, not the quantity and correctness of technical and special knowledge of business.

Procedure of group application
Companies, schools and organizations can make group applications and enjoy the advantages (of group application) as shown below. Group application makes it easier for companies and schools to utilize BJT as a part of their training program.
Note: The following applies to group applications made for tests held in Japan. For group applications for tests held outside of Japan, please contact the JETRO office or test center in the region where you wish to take the test.
Group application benefits and requirements
List of examinees' test results & test summary report
Group applicant companies/schools/organizations will receive a list of the results of all examinees from their group and a copy of the test summary report (each examinee will receive his/her own JLRT Score Certificate).
Discount rates*
Test fee : ¥7,000
*As of 2007 (from the 15th BJT / JLRT onwards), an extra ¥500 administration fee will be charged for applications sent in by mail: this fee does not apply to group applications.
Discount rate is applied to groups of 5 or test takers.

* JETRO members receive a 10% discount rate for any group size up to 39 examinees; a discount rate of 15% will apply to groups of 40 or more.
Requirements
- The above discounts are available only for tests held in Japan.
- Group applications must be made by a representative of the company/school/organization (group coordinator).
Note: the number of examinees cannot be changed after the application deadline.
Application details
How to obtain application forms
Please fill out the test application request form
(70KB) and fax it to the BJT secretariat. Forms (for the group as a whole and for each test taker in the group) will be mailed to you along with questionnaires.
How to apply
Please fill out the following forms and submit to the BJT Secretariat before the deadline.
- Group application form (one per group to be filled in by group coordinator)
- Application forms and questionnaires (to be filled in by each examinee)
Note: remember to keep the "applicant's copy" of the individual application form (triplicate).
Payment methods
Within two weeks after the application deadline, the group coordinator will receive an Application Confirmation Sheet, which includes details about available test payment methods. Payment must be made in full and at one time by the group coordinator, by bank transfer or credit card (only Visa and MasterCard are accepted).
Test and test results
Mailing of examination vouchers
Examination vouchers will be mailed no less than one week before the examination date. Please indicate on the Group Application form if the vouchers should be sent individually to each examinee or collectively to the group coordinator. In either case, the coordinator will receive a list of all examinees in the group.
Test site
The test site will be designated by the BJT secretariat.
Notification of results
Results will be available within two months after the test. Please indicate on the Group Application form if individual JLRT Score Certificates should be sent to each examinee or collectively to the group coordinator. In either case, the coordinator will receive a list showing the results of each examinee.
