How to register for the BJT
The application method differs depending on whether you take the test in Japan or outside Japan.
In Japan

Obtain an application form through one of the following methods. Send the completed form by mail to BJT Office. [How to get the application form] - Contact the BJT Office at your desired test location. - Available at university coops. |
| How to pay the test fee | [Bank transfer] (by mail or online) Pay the test fee into the designated account (Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi). Note: bank transfer charges should be borne by the applicant. [Credit card] (online) The application fee will be charged to your account on the designated date (only single payment by Visa or MasterCard accepted). Note: cardholder's name must be the same as that of the applicant. [Cash] (for payment at university coops only) (by mail) Present the completed application form at the university coop counter when making a payment. University coops accept payment by cash only. |

| Group Application and Corporate Discount | Companies, schools and organizations with one or more applicant(s) can make group applications. Group applicant companies/schools/organizations will receive a list of the results of all examinees from their group, and each examinee will receive a score certificate. To make a group application, please contact the JETRO office or test center nearest your desired test location to request application forms (group application form and individual application forms) and guidelines for group application. Please follow the information given on the group application page. |
Outside Japan
Request a test application form (overseas version) by accessing the test application form request screen on the web page or contacting the JETRO Office or test center where you wish to take the test, pay the test fee by the prescribed method, and submit your application.

| Note 2: | Please be sure to use the forms for overseas registration. You will not be able to register overseas using the forms intended for test takers in Japan. |
Notes about Applying
- Application documents and test fees received by the Secretariat cannot be returned under any condition.
- You will not be able to take the test if you have not submitted an application form by mail or registered online, even if you have paid the test fee. (Application by online is accepted only for tests taken in Japan.)
- Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. In such cases, test fees will not be returned.
- Applications must pay all money transfer fees and bank handling charges.
- After applying, you may not change your test site.
- Details of the test sites will be sent together with the examination voucher.
Applicants with physical or other disabilities
If you have a physical or other disability and will require special arrangements in order to take the test, please obtain a "Special Arrangements Form" from the JETRO office in the region where you wish to take the test, and submit it together with the application form. Arrangements will not be made unless this form is submitted.
If you require the use of a wheelchair due to injury after submitting your application, please contact the BJT secretariat as soon as possible. Arrangements cannot be made if you do not apply for arrangements to be made, or apply on or just before the date of the test. Arrangements can also not be made to sit the test in a separate room from other examinees due to injury, illness or similar grounds.
