As the schedule varies according to where the test is held, please check with the JETRO office or test center for the region where you wish to take the test before you apply.
What to Bring
- Examination voucher/photo Form Samples and the Code of the ID photo

Attach the photo to the designated space on the photo form
The photo MUST:- measure 4cm x 3cm (without frame).
- be taken within the past six months.
- be of yourself only (group photos are not acceptable).
- include your upper-body and whole face/head (hats and caps are not acceptable).
- show your full-face (items that may hide all or part of your face, such as sunglasses, are not acceptable).
- have a plain background with no shadows.
- be either color or black & white (photocopies of photos or computer printouts of photos (on regular computer paper) are NOT acceptable).
*Please understand in advance that if the photo does not meet the above requirements, you may not be allowed to take the test. In addition, if your photo is deemed unacceptable (after you have taken the test), it may not be printed on your JLRT Test Score Certificate. - Photo ID

(mobile phones, etc. may not be used for timekeeping)
Attention
- Sounds emitted by devices such as mobile phones, pagers, digital watches and electronic games can disrupt test conditions, and so all such devices must be switched off in the examination room. (This applies even to devices that can be set to vibration mode.) As some devices with alarm functions may switch on automatically even after being switched off, please ensure that such functions are disabled.
- Use of headphones, personal computers, mobile phones, cameras, electronic games and similar devices is completely prohibited at test sites. Use of recording equipment such as tape recorders is also strictly prohibited, and baggage may be searched.
- Answers must be marked in pencil on the answer sheet.
- The test cannot be taken without an examination voucher.
- Some test sites may not be equipped with wall clocks.
- Test conditions remain in effect from the start time until question and answer sheets have been collected and their number confirmed. Examinees may not leave the test site during this time. At the test site, please follow the instructions of the invigilators.
- Any improper act (cheating, removing test booklet from the test room, etc.) may disqualify the examinee from the test.
- You may not take the test at the wrong test site.
- JETRO accepts no liability for any accident or theft that may occur at the test site.
- Please avoid smoking at the test site. (As some test facilities are entirely non-smoking, please follow the invigilators' instructions at the test site.)
Prohibitions
Action will be taken against examinees who do any of the following:
- Bring recording equipment or cameras into the test site.
- Assist or receive assistance during the test.
- Do not follow invigilators' instructions.
- Copy examination questions.
- Remove question and/or answer sheets. (Removal of question and answer sheets from the test site is strictly prohibited.)
- Take the test on behalf of another person.
- Disrupt test conditions, such as through violent behavior or damage to property.
- Use mobile phones, dictionaries or reference books.
- Engage in other irregularities
Action taken may include cautioning by invigilators, non-marking of test papers, ejection while the test is in progress, and barring from future examinations.
