Invest Japan Symposium to be Held in Chicago
JETRO, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the U.S. Department of State will hold an Invest Japan Symposium in Chicago on October 22nd, 2008, with the aim of introducing Japan's investment climate and available support measures for setting up business in the country to local business people.
The symposium is designed to highlight business and investment opportunities in the Japanese economy, the world's second largest, behind only the US, accounting for 9% of global GDP. Tokyo has the world's largest metropolitan economy, with US$1.2 trillion in purchasing power, and Japan's household sector alone has an estimated US$16 trillion in financial assets. Moreover, Japan's wealth of human resources, capital, technology and relentless spirit for innovation have made the country home to many of the world's leading brands in consumer electronics, automobiles, industrial automation, and now alternative energy and green technologies.
