Finland-based Wipak, a Leading Maker of Specialized Films for Packaging, Opens Japan Arm in Yokohama
Seeking to expand its operations in Japan and enhance its support network in the country, Finland's Wipak Ltd.
, a maker of specialized packaging films for the medical and food industries, began operations from its newly established office in Yokohama (April 2008).
The firm's sterile bags for medical applications have been available in the Japan market for the past 20 years, via its Japanese distributor, but the company is now looking to expand its existing market in this field as well as establish a market for its food packaging products in the country.
Kanagawa prefecture, Yokohama city and JETRO worked together to attract Wipak to Yokohama, making it the first Finnish company to utilize the prefecture's "Invest Kanagawa" one-stop service.
