Fukuoka International Business Association Helps Build Ties Among Local Foreign Business Community
The Fukuoka International Business Association (FIBA) provides opportunities to strengthen networking among foreign businesspeople, government entities and researchers active mainly in Fukuoka and the Kyushu region, by encouraging free exchange of information on subjects such as international business and the global economy. Using English as its official language, FIBA holds regular networking events and provides timely information on the latest business developments, with the aim of helping its members expand their business activities and boost the appeal of Fukuoka as base for international businesses.
At a FIBA networking event held in October 2007, officials from the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan joined association members for company presentations and networking activities. The event's keynote speech was presented by a representative from a venture capital firm on the topic, "Keys to Success for Venture Firms", which touched on best practices for human resource development and other subjects.
Through its activities, FIBA facilitates the transmission of essential and timely business information to Fukuoka's foreign business community, as well as enabling information exchange with local firms engaged in international business. FIBA is also a reassuring presence for foreign firms setting up business in Fukuoka as well those already operating in the region.
