US-Japan Investment Initiative Regional Seminars for Investing in Japan
============================================================================
This May, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) will host US-Japan
investment seminars in Nagoya and Chiba, aimed at providing an opportunity
for businesses from the US to learn about investment and business tie-up
opportunities in these regions. Through a series of lectures and panel
discussions involving prominent business people, academics and government
officials from both countries, seminars will highlight each region's
investment incentives, provide market and industry overviews and offer
analysis of each region's promising business sectors.
Representatives from some 50 US companies will take part in the seminars and
give presentations on their businesses, followed by an opportunity for these
firms to take part in one-on-one business talks with interested Japanese companies.
The US-Japan investment seminars, which are part of a public outreach
program under the investment initiative agreement between the US and Japan,
have been held annually in selected regions of Japan since 2002. This year's
seminars are co-organized by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry
(METI), the US Embassy in Japan, the Greater Nagoya Initiative and Chiba prefecture.
Seminar Schedule:
Nagoya: May 15th, 2005, The Nagoya Congress Center
(1-1, Atsuta-nishimachi, Atsuta-ku, Nagoya)
Chiba: May 19th, 2005, The Nippon Convention Center
(Makuhari Messe, Nakase 2-1, Mihama-ku, Chiba)
