This year at CEATEC JAPAN, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) will offer "JETRO East Asia Tech@CEATEC JAPAN 2007" (October 5th). This is an exclusive event for first-time exhibitors in CEATEC from East Asian countries, and is intended to help firms from these countries identify potential Japanese business partners. JETRO provides a range of support and service (outlined below) to participants.

-Publication & promotion (include listing in directory and website)
-Participation in poster exhibit at East Asia Tech@CEATEC JAPAN 2007
 If a Japanese company expresses interest in a meeting with participants,
  JETRO will:
  -Set up a one-on-one meeting*
  -Provide a closed meeting space with a table, four chairs, LAN Internet access and electricity outlets
  -Provide interpreting service** for meetings (based on availability)
* Meetings, in principle, are one hour in length and conducted in English.
**Interpreting service will be offered in English-Japanese, Chinese-Japanese, and Korean-Japanese.

Participation Fee
FREE*
Participation in JETRO East Asia Tech@CEATEC JAPAN 2007 and the above services are offered free of charge.
* Participants must cover other costs such as transportation, accommodation, etc.

Qualification and Requirements
1. Participants must be East Asian firms and (all of the below)
I) First-time exhibitor at CEATEC JAPAN
II) Have a definite strategy for entry into the Japanese market
III) NOT have a subsidiary or branch office in Japan
IV) Searching for a Japanese business partner

2. Other important requirements:
I) Company must not have an exclusive sales agent. Foreign companies that already have a distributor in Japan must obtain a letter of consent from such third party and submit it to JETRO prior to the event.
II) Participants must have tangible products, services, and technologies relevant to CEATEC JAPAN 2007. (Consulting firms, resellers/distributors and outsourcing companies are NOT eligible.)

Screening
Event organizers will screen applicants and select 20 companies to participate. Results will be available by late-August.
